The MPA team employs a wide range of occupations, profiles and talents. Two new names were added in March 2023: Christyne Naud and Victor Veste. Here they are!

Christyne Naud, Coordinator, Grand Quay, Tower operations, Port Centre and Events

As the Port of Montreal Tower got closer to opening its doors, we needed someone to coordinate its operations, logistics, tourism partnerships and events: Christyne! With nearly 25 years of experience in her quiver, Christyne has held administrative positions and worked in events. "I was drawn to event planning," she told us. "I love the creativity it takes to come up with themes and all the teamwork that goes into it." Any projects she's especially proud of? “Already, I’ve organized fireworks from the river," she said, "and an event with Bryan Adams for 2,000 people... That was a surprise and everyone stood up when he went on stage!"

In her personal life, Christyne loves to travel. She spent eight years in Europe, an experience that changed her life. "As a child, I was shy and timid as a mouse. Traveling opened my eyes to the world, to the life and culture of other countries. It builds character!"

What drew her to our team? “I wanted to work for a cultural, tourist or event site. The Tower brings all of that together!” Not only that, “I love being by the water, whether it's a lake, the river, the sea, even a puddle ?!" Her dream? “To have a house by the water and a boat, and to go around the world!" Since she now works at the Port of Montreal on the riverfront at the beautiful Grand Quay site, we can tell she's in her element! Welcome to the team!

Victor Veste, Electrical Technician, Infrastructure Management

For Victor, electricity runs in the family. “I'm a third generation electrician!" he told us. "My father was an electrician, so was my grandfather, and so was my brother and my nephew..." Sounds like Victor has electricity in his bones. "I loved to tinker when I was a kid, but I didn't understand all the principles. I often burned things." Don’t worry, he has made a lot of progress since then! With a Bachelor's in Electromechanics and a Certificate of Qualification in Electricity, he could even give advice to his father. "We made a good team!”

Although he has only been working at the MPA for a short time, Victor is not new to the Port of Montreal. He arrived eight years ago from Moldova and immediately got his feet wet in shipping as an employee of Asys Control & Automation, working on the electrical maintenance of vessels, and later at Viterra’s grain terminal.

In his personal life, Victor has had a huge passion since childhood: soccer. "I can't get enough of it! I play twice a week on a team, and we organize practices, games and tournaments. And of course, he has become a fan of the Montreal CF and dreams of seeing his youngest son share his passion... Looks like that's off to a good start, too!

Welcome to the MPA!
