The practices and procedures below are applicable to all vessels operating in Port of Montreal waters. They were developed for the purpose of promoting safe, secure and effective navigation and environmental stewardship within the Port of Montreal’s geographical limits.



Verification of verified gross mass of containers

Every shipper of cargo is required to provide an official document confirming the verified gross mass (VGM) of the packed containers to the shipping line responsible for the transportation of these containers. For more information, consult:
