Governance

The Montreal Port Authority (MPA) is an autonomous federal agency created under the Canada Marine Act.

The MPA builds and maintains facilities that it leases to private stevedoring companies. It is these companies and the marine carriers, represented by the Maritime Employers Association, that employ the longshoremen and longshorewomen responsible for transhipping goods in the Port of Montreal.

Board of Directors and Management

The Montreal Port Authority Board of Directors has seven members and its Management Committee has seven vice-presidents and is chaired by the MPA’s President and CEO.

Partners

A creator of synergies, the Port of Montreal is at the heart of a far reaching, highly efficient supply chain and enjoys strong partnerships around the world.
