Launch of the 6th edition of the Smart Port Challenge

With innovation at the core of our business strategy and at the very heart of the mission of ÉTS École de technologie supérieure, the MPA launched the 6th edition of the Smart Port Challenge in partnership with engineering firm Hatch.

Initiated in 2016, the Smart Port Challenge consists of a challenge to students in the Operations and Logistics Engineering program at ÉTS for the fall and winter sessions.

This year's challenge to students is to design a truck entry complex for the new Contrecoeur expansion project that includes engineering, simulations, innovation and environmental measures, with the goal of optimizing heavy vehicle traffic flow.

Student teams will compete using all their creativity to come up with innovative solutions to this problem, earning $10,000 in scholarships. The Port of Montreal is proud to continue this partnership and help develop the next generation of talent in innovation!
