Tree planting at the Port of Montreal: 2019 operational results
As part of its sustainable development and environmental preservation endeavours, the Port of Montreal completed its tree planting program for 2019 at the end of October.
A total of 301 trees were planted between the Port of Montreal’s head office on Cité-du-Havre and Montreal East in 2019:
41 trees near Section 70 south of Émile-Legrand and Beauclerk streets
111 trees near Sections 98 to 100 between Joseph-Versailles Boulevard and Gamble Avenue
140 trees between Sections 91 and 93 in Parc de la Promenade-Bellerive
50 trees near Montreal Port Authority headquarters on Pierre-Dupuy Avenue
You may recall that as a member of the Greening Leaders Committee of Montreal, the Port of Montreal pledged to plant 2,000 trees in five years. So far, close to 700 trees have been planted on Port territory since 2017.
