Port of Montreal once again recognized in Green Marine certification program
For the 19th consecutive year, the Port of Montreal has been recognized for its sustainable development practices and environmental performance through Green Marine’s certification program, the leading environmental benchmark for the international maritime industry. As a proud founding member of Green Marine, the Montreal Port Authority (MPA) remains committed to continuously improving its environmental performance.
The results were announced at the annual GreenTech conference, held in Quebec City from June 9 to 11. Among the 54 port authorities evaluated, the Montreal Port Authority (MPA) stood out by achieving the highest level (5) in the performance indicators related to spill prevention and community relations. The MPA also attained level 4 in the performance indicators for aquatic ecosystems, air emissions, residual waste management, environmental leadership, and land use compatibility.
This recognition reflects the rigorous work and ongoing commitment of the Port’s teams, who contribute every day to the continuous improvement of its environmental performance and the strengthening of its relationships with local communities.
