Port of Montreal shines again in Green Marine certification program
For the 18th consecutive year, the Port of Montreal has been recognized for its sustainable development practices and environmental performance under the Green Marine certification program, the North American marine industry’s leading environmental benchmark.
The results were announced at the annual GreenTech conference, held in New Orleans from June 9 to 11. Among the 56 port authorities surveyed, the Montreal Port Authority (MPA) stood out by reaching the highest level (5) in several performance indicators, including Environmental Leadership, Spill Prevention and Community Relations. The MPA also ranked level 4 out of 5 in Aquatic Ecosystems, Air Emissions GHG & Air Pollutants, Waste Management and Community Impacts.
This success is the result of the tireless work and ongoing commitment of the Port’s teams, who are dedicated to continuously improve its environmental footprint and community relations.
