See the first ship of the year arrive on video!
On January 2, 2024, the Helena G, sailing from Bulgaria bringing a cargo of gold and pyrite, was the first ocean-going vessel of the year 2024 to reach the Port of Montreal, kicking off a new year of navigation. In keeping with a tradition that goes back more than 180 years, the MPA awarded the ship’s master the famous Gold-Headed Cane.
