Réception au Grand Quai du Port de Montréal

The event, held to consolidate relations between all the different partners in Greater Montreal’s supply chain, brought together freight forwarders, shipping lines, trucking companies, railways, terminal operators, exporters, importers and various associations working at the core of this far-reaching ecosystem. For the Port of Montreal, the evening was an opportunity to thank its partners and clients for their ongoing support and loyalty, and to salute the importance of collaborative efforts and the wealth of business connections that unite all the players in the logistics industry.

The evening was also an occasion for Interim President and Chief Executive Officer Geneviève Deschamps to note that the Port of Montreal has invested over $1 billion in 10 years to consolidate the supply chain and prepare for the future, with major infrastructure projects such as the Viau overpass, project works to optimize rail capacity, and the Contrecœur expansion project.

“At the Port of Montreal, our role is to offer companies in Quebec and the rest of Canada the best possible environment for them to compete, grow and develop. One of the ways we contribute to your growth and that of our ecosystem is by providing services, infrastructure and tools that meet your needs and those of our respective users. Our job is to provide the winning conditions so that every link in our supply chain can contribute to the fullest extent possible to a sustainable, resilient and smooth-flowing port,” said Geneviève Deschamps.

The event was also a fitting occasion to mark the departure of Daniel Dagenais, Vice-President, Port Performance and Sustainable Development, after a career spanning more than 15 years with the Montreal Port Authority, and to wish him every success. Effective October 10, 2023, Daniel Dagenais will be President and Chief Executive Officer of Transport Nanuk Inc. and NEAS Group Inc.
