A virtual information session to update citizens on the Contrecœur Project
On June 3, the Montreal Port Authority (MPA) hosted a virtual information session, including a question-and-answer period, on the Port of Montreal’s expansion project in Contrecœur. The main objectives of the event were to provide an update on the project’s progress and to answer questions from the public. To this end, MPA experts came together to provide information and clarifications on various aspects of the project.
In total, nearly 75 people registered for the event. Six MPA experts participated and answered approximately 35 questions during the hour-and-a-half session.
Discussions covered a range of topics, including the environment, transportation, the project’s benefits, the preparatory work completed to date, and upcoming activities. This virtual session was organized to diversify public participation opportunities and to give those interested in the project another way to learn more about it.
The questions raised during the session, along with the answers provided by the experts, will be available in the coming days on the Let’s Talk About the Project platform. This event is part of a broader effort to maintain regular communication with citizens. It complements the MPA’s other communication initiatives, such as the project newsletter, the Let’s Talk About the Project platform, open house events, and meetings with the coexistence committee and neighbourhood relations committee established as part of the project.
Thank you to all participants for their interest and thoughtful questions, as well as to the MPA experts who took part in the session.
