This major announcement supports the development and optimization of the Port of Montreal's transportation infrastructure to strengthen the efficiency and resilience of the supply chain, which is vital not only for Montreal, but for the national economy as a whole.

The announcement was made at the 2024 strategic forum RDV de l'Est: Transport et logistique, organized by the Chambre de commerce de l'Est de Montréal, where Minister Rodriguez pointed out the need for a proactive approach if we are to stay competitive in global markets.

"This initiative confirms the federal government's commitment to developing trade corridors and Quebec’s economic vitality. It makes it possible to support the Port of Montreal in its key role as an international shipping hub, with a strong focus on sustainable and effective solutions for our transportation network," said Julie Gascon, President and CEO of the Port of Montreal.
