16.75 million dollars allocated by the Government of Canada to the Pie-IX railway bridge project
The Port of Montreal hails the $16.75 million in funding announced on March 25 by the Honourable Pablo Rodriguez, Minister of Transport and Quebec Lieutenant, for the Pie-IX railway bridge project, under the National Trade Corridors Fund.
The announcement was made at the 2024 strategic forum RDV de l'Est: Transport et logistique, organized by the Chambre de commerce de l'Est de Montréal, where Minister Rodriguez pointed out the need for a proactive approach if we are to stay competitive in global markets.
"This initiative confirms the federal government's commitment to developing trade corridors and Quebec’s economic vitality. It makes it possible to support the Port of Montreal in its key role as an international shipping hub, with a strong focus on sustainable and effective solutions for our transportation network," said Julie Gascon, President and CEO of the Port of Montreal.
