Head office of the Port of Montreal

"Since taking office on the 12th of February, I have seen and appreciated the expertise and deep commitment of the management team and all the MPA teams behind the projects, operations and strategic approaches that are shaping the Port of Montreal of the future," said Julie Gascon, President and CEO of the MPA. "These changes to the management team, while retaining our in-house strengths, will support our ambitions and those of our partners in the port ecosystem," she added.

Effective April 1, 2024:

Paul Bird becomes Chief Commercial Officer with a mandate to advance a unified vision of commercial and territorial development for the Port of Montreal. He will be closely supported in his mission by Guillaume Brossard, Vice-President, Development, Marketing and International Relations, and his current team. Paul will also be supported by Benoit Viens, Senior Director, Real Estate and Environment, and his teams, along with a Senior Project Director who will join the team to pilot the major Contrecœur project.

David D’Amboise becomes Chief Operations Officer. All teams engaged in marine and land operations will be grouped together, ensuring full synergy to seamlessly roll out our core mission: operations and infrastructure management.

Geneviève Deschamps will now act as Chief Financial and Technology Officer. Retaining her mandates in Finance and Procurement, she will also spearhead one of our key strategic projects, Digital Transformation.

Marie-Claude Galarneau becomes Chief Human Resources and Strategy Officer, adding the Strategic Intelligence and Innovation and Occupational Health and Safety teams to her current team. As such, the HR pillar and business strategy are interconnected going forward.

Rounding out the executive management team, Mélanie Nadeau remains at the helm as Vice-President, Public Affairs and Community Relations, and Valérie Wells remains Senior Director, Legal Affairs and Corporate Secretary.

"The challenges we face are considerable, yet they also represent exciting opportunities, whether we're focusing on our major project for the future, growing our business, ensuring the resilience of port operations, improving our performance, or even decarbonizing our activities. This makes it a great pleasure to keep working with my team, side by side with our clients and partners," added Ms. Gascon.
