On Wednesday, June 26, an exceptional convoy transited through the Port of Montreal a state-of-the-art recycling machine destined for a new multi-million-dollar facility located in Winnipeg.

Designed by the German equipment manufacturer Steinert, this 25-tonne machine converts metal waste (compressed cars, various devices, old bicycles) into usable steel, copper, aluminum and iron. It sorts materials using magnetic and sensor-based sorting and separation solutions.

In addition to being a technological feat, this convoy is also a logistical tour de force because, by passing through the Port of Montreal, it made the trip from its departure point in Germany to its final destination in Winnipeg in just 18 days!
