Status of the situation: Port activities back to normal
Following the order of the Canada Industrial Relations Board (CIRB), operations have resumed at all Port of Montreal terminals on Saturday, November 16.
Over the past few weeks, port teams and their partners have made a sustained effort to ensure a quick return to normal operations. The accumulated delays have now been cleared, and port activities have resumed their normal course, in order to meet the needs of the businesses and consumers who depend on the Port of Montreal.

How do I find out where my container/cargo is?
To find out the current status of your goods, you need to contact the logistics service provider (shipping line or freight forwarder) assigned to transport your goods.
In our Port Directory, you will find the contact information of the brokerage companies and freight forwarders (Section 13) and the national (Section 4) and international (Section 3) shipping lines that serve the Port of Montreal.
Will I have to pay detention charges if my goods stay dockside longer than expected?
Detention charges vary from one shipping line to another. You must contact your logistics provider (shipping line or freight forwarder) assigned to transport your goods to get the applicable detention charges.

Can I come pick up my container/goods?
Operations have resumed this November 16 at 7 a.m. at the Port of Montreal, so you can pick up your goods the way you usually do.

It is important to check the websites of the terminal operators for the status and hours of operation for the next few days, especially for the planning of truckers.
