New access card reader

The Montreal Port Authority would like to inform you that a port security enhancement project is underway.

This project involves the change of the access card-reading technology (port passes) for all port user authentications. The program began 5 years ago with the use of cards with dual technology. As a result, current cardholders do not have to change their Port pass.

The new card readers at the port and marine facilities check-in and access control points are currently being installed.

Please note that this new technology reduces the distance at which the reader can read the Port pass. As a result, users will have to approach their access card closer to the reader than they did before.
