Alban Fournier

Chief Financial and Technology Officer

Appointed in 2024 as Chief Financial and Technology Officer at the Montreal Port Authority (MPA), Alban Fournier oversees finance, technology and procurement operations. From this strategic position, he is instrumental in delivering the Port’s long-term development priorities, specifically by optimizing the financial structure, driving digital transformation and completing the Contrecœur expansion project.

With close to 30 years of experience spanning three continents, Mr. Fournier brings substantial expertise in corporate strategy, finance, accounting, management, compliance, internal audit and governance. He was Group Chief Financial Officer at Davie Canada Inc., following more than two decades at Rio Tinto, where he held several senior positions, most notably in finance and internal audit.

Recognized for his strategic vision, motivational leadership and financial acumen, Mr. Fournier is playing a key role in strengthening the MPA’s role as a strategic national infrastructure. He is tasked with creating the right financial conditions to bring large-scale projects to life, while ensuring that long-term financial plans are adjusted and innovative technology initiatives are implemented.

A graduate of Sciences Po, the Paris Institute of Political Studies, Alban Fournier holds a master’s in finance and economics.
