Port Expansion in Contrecoeur

The new container-terminal in Contrecœur will increase the Port of Montreal’s handling capacity since its current facilities are operating at nearly full capacity. This project will add 1.15 million containers per year, i.e. 40%, to the capacity of 2.1 M TEU (20-foot equivalent units) on Montreal Island.
