The year 2023 marked a record year for the Port of Montreal’s Grand Quay. In all, the Grand Quay’s rental spaces were snapped up for the equivalent of 306 days over the course of the year. Key events included Startup Montréal, the Climate Summit and the Plural Contemporary Art Fair. More than 532,000 visitors also enjoyed the spaces, up 44% increase over 2022.

In the heart of Old Montreal, the Port of Montreal’s Grand Quay is home to outstanding public spaces ideally located on the riverfront. The majestic Port of Montreal Tower, inaugurated in the spring of 2023, Commencement Square and its lawn area right on the river, the magnificent Promenade d’Iberville with its green roof featuring 24,000 plants, the Bonjour Montréal structure and 180-metre-long wooden terrace, and the Port Centre, all offer ideal locations to relax and discover the city.

 

The Port of Montreal’s Grand Quay has a number of indoor and outdoor venues available year-round. Whether for a trade show, convention, gala, wedding, office party or a holiday event, here are the options for leasing our waterfront venues:

The most spectacular— The Port of Montreal Tower, a majestic glass tower 65 metres high offering incredible 360° panoramic views of the city and river from the heart of Old Montreal.  

The largest — The T1 Cruise Terminal, with close to 3,500 square metres (37,500 ft²), can accommodate the biggest events, with the added option of outdoor space on the adjoining quay.

The best view— The Pavilion, located on the 2nd floor boasts 1,500 square metres (16,700 ft²) and offers a glassed-in view of the city and the river.  

The most bucolic— The Promenade d’Iberville (green roof) can host events on its 180-metre wooded terrace featuring 24,000 plants, overlooking the Grand Quay site. A flower-filled promenade in the heart of the city.

The most original— The Port Centre and its maritime decor add an entertaining and quirky touch. With the All aboard! exhibition as a backdrop, ship models, interactive installations and information on port activities, the space covers 450 square metres (5,000 ft²).   

At the water’s edge—Commencement Square, with its lawned area, provides unrivalled proximity to the river. The 4,500 square-metre space (nearly 50,000— ft²) can be set up to suit various needs.
