Rail capacity and dock optimization

The project to optimize rail capacity and wharves, which included laying an additional six km of track and switches, upgrading the internal rail network and relocating the Port Road, wrapped up an initial phase of preparatory work with the consolidation of berths 25 and 27:

  • Concrete refacing 
  • Two walls combined with sheet piles 
  • Rock anchors 
  • Two submerged belt beams for which divers were required to carry out the underwater work for the casing, framework and concrete.

In parallel, the project team launched the tendering process for the rail optimization scheduled to start in 2021.
