The MPA mobilized to ensure that it actively participates in the recovery from a sustainable development perspective. While furthering its efforts to protect the environment, its teams continued to plan and develop solutions based on the following four challenges:
- Energy efficiency, to reduce our carbon footprint
- Renewable energy, to explore the potential for energy production
- Soil management, to recover building materials
- Biodiversity, to find offset solutions for species at risk affected by our operations.
In related efforts, the MPA joined two new partnerships to collectively help link economic development and the ecology, and do its part for a better future.
In 2020, it joined the ALUS Montérégie program, which on a yearly basis contributes to the preservation of ecosystems and supports farmers in their efforts to protect the environment.
It also joined the Montreal Climate Partnership, which brings together several key players in the Montreal community to take broad action against climate change.
