Chair and CEO messages

Whether dealing with the fallout from labour disputes or the repercussions of global events on international trade, what made it possible for us to stay the course was our commitment to our mission and our partners. We managed to keep volumes stable, a result that attests to our diversification, our resilience and our stakeholders’ remarkable level of collaboration.
Being a resilient port that provides reliability, fluidity and capacity is the key to how we fully play our part in supporting businesses and meeting current trade challenges. For this to happen, we must anticipate and build the foundations of tomorrow today. In this spirit, we moved ahead with planning for our major expansion project in Contrecœur, strengthened our infrastructure in Montreal and launched new initiatives to improve our operations and optimize supply chain fluidity. More than ever, we are reaching out to the world to consolidate our alliances and ensure our strategic role in international trade.
We also persevered in our efforts to build a sustainable future by planning our energy transition and strengthening our ties with the communities around us.
Our scope of responsibility far exceeds the transportation of goods. We contribute to the country's economic development as we integrate practices that respect the environment and local communities, in light of the fact that ports are strategic infrastructures for the country's economic sovereignty.
Above all, this report is the outcome of a collective effort. We heartily thank everyone who makes this mission possible: our dedicated teams, our partners, our clients, port workers, and the members of our board of directors. Together, we make the Port of Montreal a core player in global trade and a driver of prosperity for businesses at home and abroad. This collective strength and inherent expertise empower us to look to the future with confidence in rapidly changing global circumstances.
