The port, a business partner
experience the montréal cruise product
Montreal, October 31 – The Montreal Cruise Committee has produced a video that showcases Montreal as a cruise destination of choice. The video has been integrated into electronic news bulletins sent to travel agents. It is also available on Tourism Montreal’s YouTube account and on the www.cruisesalamontreal.com microsite.
The committee is continuing its efforts to attract more cruise ships to Montreal and encourage passengers to spend a few extra days in the city before or after their cruise. “We are actively working on our action plan for next year,” said Nathalie Gaudet, project manager for the Montreal Cruise Committee.
“Cruise business through the Port of Montreal has continued to evolve over the past three years thanks to the work of our marketing and operations teams and the support of Montreal Cruise Committee partners,” said Sylvie Vachon, president and CEO of the Montreal Port Authority. “Cruise passengers were welcomed this year at completely revamped facilities and by a new cruise and guest services coordinator, signs that we fully believe in the extraordinary potential of this sector for the economic development of the city and its international stature.”
Montreal enjoyed an exceptional cruise season in 2013, welcoming more than 53,000 international passengers, up 10 percent over last year, for a total of almost 70,000 passengers.
