The Port of Montreal is an exhibitor at the Retail Industry Leaders Association Conference, which welcomes more than 2,000 professionals in the manufacturing and retail trade sector.  The Port’s representative to the USA, Don Finnerty, and the Director, Growth and Development, Containers, Rosetta Iacono, are representing the Port at this event.

Termont Montreal announces that it will be the operator of the future Viau container terminal at the Port of Montreal, as it and its longstanding partners, the Port of Montreal, signed a long-term lease under which the private company Termont Montreal Inc. will invest $42 million in the initial phase of the terminal project. Sylvie Vachon, President and CEO of the Port of Montreal, takes part in the Strategic Forum organized by the Board of Trade of Metropolitan Montreal on the theme of “Transportation and Logistics: a Powerful Vector of the Metropolitan Economy.” As chair of the Board of Directors of CargoM, the Logistics and Transportation Metropolitan Cluster of Montreal, Ms. Vachon gives a presentation on this organization and the Port of Montreal’s importance for the economy.

For his part, Daniel Dagenais, VP, Operations at the Port, gives a presentation “Accessibility Challenges at the Port of Montreal.”

Michel M. Lessard, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Montreal Port Authority (MPA), announces the appointment of Me Eric Simard as Director of the Montreal Port Authority. Me Simard was appointed to this office by the City of Montreal for a three-year term ending March 23, 2018. The Montreal Port Authority holds its annual meeting. The year 2014 was marked by a substantial upswing in container traffic at the Port of Montreal. The financial results followed. Up a significant 8% in the volume of cargo handled, this growth made it possible to cross the threshold of 30 million tonnes of cargo handled in a single year.Read the communique
