Port in the City Day is once again a success. Upon release, the roughly 4,000 – free -- tickets were snapped up within a few hours. Five one-hour cruises allow people to discover port facilities from the river.

 

September 11 and 13

Mission of the Montreal Port Authority to the Port of Antwerp, Belgium, under the cooperation agreement signed between the two ports last year. The Port of Antwerp is the Port of Montreal’s main partner. The focus was on marketing and community relations.

Presentation by Port of Montreal President and CEO Sylvie Vachon at the Women’s International Shipping & Trading Association (WISTA). This year, WISTA Canada is hosting the event, to be held from October 2 to 4, in Montreal for the first time, with strong sponsorship by the MPA. The theme: Navigating the Seas of Change. WISTA has 30 national chapters and more than 1,800 members.

 

Executive appointments at the Port of Montreal

 

Sophie Roux was appointed Director of Communications as of July 2.

 

Sylvie Vachon, President and CEO of the Montreal Port Authority was named Chair of the Board of Directors of the Association of Canadian Port Authorities (ACPA) in August.

 

 

Rosetta Iacono was appointed Director, Growth and Development, Container as of September 16.

 

 

 

Yves Gilson was appointed Manager, Marketing, Growth and Development as of September 30. He previously held the position of Communications Manager.
