A 10th MS Bike Tour for the Port of Montreal

On August 24 and 25, a team from the Port of Montreal took part in the 24th provincial MS Bike Tour, held this year in the Chaudière-Appalaches Region.

Up, up and away !

In those two days, the 10 members of the team covered more than 160 km. The participation of altogether 1,000 cyclists made it possible to raise more than $1 million dollars. For its part, the port team succeeded in raising more than $10,000 for a fourth consecutive year.
Jean-François Daoust, Procurement Advisor, was the team leader. This was his fourth time participating.

What was the most difficult ?

This year, the second day was tougher because of the wind and the steep hills we had to climb. But the effort was worth it, if only for the hero’s welcome participants got at the finish line on Sunday afternoon.

Why did you choose this cause?

First of all, to help people with multiple sclerosis, of course. Profits from this event and others like it are used to provide support and services to people with MS, their families and their caregivers. They also fund research, which has three main goals: to find the cause and cure for MS, to repair damage to the nervous system cause by MS, and to put an end to MS relapses.

We also do it for the physical activity and to socialize with work colleagues.

Will you do it again next year?

Yes, and we’ll get even more people to participate!
