Communications

June 2016 - Port's advertising campaign wins two awards
Terrain Ogilvy won two prestigious awards at the Summit Creative Award international competition. The awards are a crowning achievement for an advertising campaign that the agency produced for the Port of Montreal. The agency won Print Best of Show for the Trading with the World campaign, and gold for the Chopsticks advertisement that is part of the campaign. The Summit Creative Award recognizes each year creative campaigns from more than 20 participating countries.

July 2, 2015 – Three communications awards
The Port of Montreal won three awards in the annual Communications Awards Program organized by the American Association of Port Authorities (AAPA): an Award of Distinction for its 2013 annual report and two Awards of Merit for its “Trading With The World” advertising campaign. More

June 27, 2014 – Two communications awards
The Port of Montreal received two Awards of Distinction from the American Association of Port Authorities (AAPA). The award in the Special Events category recognized the 175th Gold-Headed Cane Presentation Ceremony. The award in the Periodicals category recognized the high quality of Logbook E-magazine. More

June 19, 2014 – Award for the Gold-Headed Cane Presentation Ceremony
The Port of Montreal won a Merit Award, Special Events, from the International Association of Business Communicators (IABC). This award recognized the 175th Gold-Headed Cane Presentation Ceremony. More

June 6, 2013 - Three Communications Awards
The Port of Montreal has won three awards in the American Association of Port Authorities’ (AAPA) annual Communications Competition. The Port won an Award of Excellence for its new website. The Port took home an Award of Distinction for its PortInfo electronic magazine. The Port of Montreal’s new branding campaign, “Trading with the World” or “Commercer avec le monde,” launched in 2012, won an Award of Merit. More

May 10, 2013 - Bronze 2013 Port Communications Award
The Port of Montreal has won the International Association of Ports and Harbors’ (IAPH) bronze 2013 Port Communications Award. The prize recognizes a project that provides free Wi-Fi on Port of Montreal territory to seafarers whose ships are docked in port. The service allows mariners to connect more easily with family and friends back home. More

March 17, 2015 - Best Turnaround Destination Award
Once again, the Port of Montreal was signalled out by the prestigious magazine Cruise Insight with the Best Turnaround Destination award, which honours cruise destinations around the world that offer disembarking and boarding passengers a superior welcome. More

March 18, 2013 - Award for efficient cruise services
The Port of Montreal has won an award for its cruise operations from the prestigious Cruise Insight magazine for a fifth consecutive year. This year the Port has taken home the prize for Most Efficient Port Services. The award recognizes the Port’s efficient combination of port agency and customs services and its strong working relationship with cruise line operations departments. More

June 17, 2015 – Environmental Excellence Award
The Port of Montreal won the Environmental Excellence Award for the Eastern Region awarded by the Canadian International Freight Forwards Association (CIFFA). It recognized the project to reclaim contaminated soil through  Solidification/Stabilization (S/S) during redevelopment of the Viau sector. More

May 28, 2011 - Grand Prize for Excellence in the Cargo Transportation category
The Montreal Port Authority has been awarded the Grand Prize for Excellence in the Cargo Transportation category by Quebec’s road transportation association, the Association québécoise du transport et des routes (AQTR), for the successful completion of its new entry portal for trucks on Port territory. More

October 28, 2014 – St. Lawrence Award to Sylvie Vachon
Sylvie Vachon, President and CEO of the Port of Montreal, won the St. Lawrence Award conferred by the St. Lawrence Economic Development Council (SODES). The award honours individuals' outstanding actions related to the marine industry. More

April 30, 2014 - Étoile d'Or from Cercle Esteler
The Port of Montreal received the Étoile d’Or trophy awarded by the Cercle Esteler – Belgian Business Network in Quebec. This award recognized the Memorandum of Understanding signed in 2013 with the Port of Antwerp. Under this MOU, the two partners have established four areas of collaborative activity: marketing and business development; business intelligence; asset management; and sustainable, socially responsible development. May 10, 2012 - Sylvie Vachon awarded the Prix Orchidée
The President and Chief Executive Officer of the Montreal Port Authority received the Prix Orchidée from the East Montreal Chamber of Commerce (EMCC). This award honours a VIP who makes both a commitment and an outstanding contribution to East Montreal’s economic and social development. More
